GROUNDS FOR BELIEF - 1996
GROUNDS FOR BELIEF reflects my obsession with collecting objects from everyday life. It continues the manipulation of them seen in past works, but places them next to other found objects that are left unaltered.
The quirky juxtaposition of these things fill a narrow shelf that spans the width of an entire room, and is painted the same color as the wall in order to give the objects more visual presence.
As the viewer searches for connections within the various relationships on the shelf, they bring their own associations, by default, into the interpretation. This naturally creates a more personal experience for them.
