GROUNDS FOR BELIEF Several Theories       '96 at Boehm Gallery in San Marcos, CA
GROUNDS FOR BELIEF Several Theories

is a collection of found objects - some manipulated and others not - some recognizable and others not.  The juxtaposition of the known and unknown are objects of mystery in some untold story.  As the viewer searches for connections within the quirky relationships on the shelf, they bring their own associations, by default, into a narrative of their own making.  This naturally creates a more personal experience with the work.

DESCRIPTION
A thin shelf spanning the entire width of the room holds a curious collection of altered and unaltered objects.  Painted the color of the wall it becomes background support, giving more presence to the objects as details of significance.
